World Tourism Day has been held on 27 September each year since 1980. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organization in 1970, paving the way for the establishment of UN Tourism five years later.
The Sablayan Tourism Office celebrates World Tourism Day by facilitating 2-day activities intended for Tourism Stakeholders in the municipality. Some of the main highlights are the AgriTourism Trade Fair: “Go Local, Buy Local” encouraging individuals to patronage locally made products and Tourism Night where all tourism stakeholders are gathered and given awards and recognition for their remarkable contribution to the tourism industry of the municipality.

Pearl Awards awarded the Tourism Office of the Municipality of Sablayan as 2nd Runner-Up Best Tourism Week or Month Celebration Award – Municipal Level for World Tourism Day – Go Local Buy Local Trade Fair & Pasalubong Contest last October 5, 2023.
